Jackass meets NBA
Anybody see that J-Lo dress? Well, the #grammys were last night and the really wanted everyone to #follow them on @Twitter. They could not have been more up front and aggressive to get likes and follows. I wonder how many followers @LLCOOLJ got after his shamless plugs…As for advertising I liked the musically themed ads especially the Surface Pro ad, the dubstep beat boxing was dope. Tonight we also had the premiere of The Walking Dead. Dr. Pepper came out with a series of commercials that got fans of the walking dead to blog about why they are the number one fan to attend the season 4 premiere in Hollywood. The winner will be announced at the season finale of season 3, it should be interesting.
Is it just me or does anyone else want to be in the Clydesdale brotherhood? The Superbowl was filled with alot of drama and most of that was in the Dodge Ram commercial. There were some winners and losers from yesterday’s game’s Ads but here is a list of my top four: Budweiser Brotherhood, Leon Sandcastle, AXE Astronaut, and Taco Bell nursing home. Comedy seems to win in most cases but Budweiser did a great job reaching a female audience and keeping a their current male audience. Because of my major I am forced to see commercials in a new light and I can’t wait to see the ones for next year.
I hate shaving. It does not relax me, facial hair maintenance is a chore at best and though I look better with facial hair I do not care for it. How then would you think that I buy a subscription for disposable razors? Simple, a you tube video. A video that goes against every traditional razor commercial and is funny and organic. Dollar Shave Club had changed the game of online advertising and marketing because they are not on broadcast at all. Only through the internet are they accessible. For a dollar a month (not including shipping and lowest possible option) this company will send you razor body and three two bladed heads two your door, along with a whimsical letter filled with plays on words and satire. The initial purchase was interesting and fun but I am unsure of how they will increase awareness, sales and what have you but for now I am satisfied and content with my order. Take that name brand douchebags…Tiger Woods.
